The Route to Kumrat Valley

Kumrat is reached by road from Islamabad via Dir, a drive of roughly seven to eight hours covering around 265 kilometers to Dir town, followed by a further stretch to Thall where the valley itself begins. The last section of road beyond Thall requires a jeep rather than a regular car, since the track running alongside the Panjkora River is unpaved and can be rough depending on recent weather. Travelers heading on to the Jahaz Banda trek continue further still, on foot, from a village beyond Thall.
